In a significant step towards enhancing electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, Lookers Motor Group Limited, BMW Stoke, partnered with Cleaner Group to deliver a state-of-the-art EV charging station project.

Acting as the principal contractor, Cleaner Group was responsible for the design, build, and installation of an advanced EV charging system that exemplifies efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.

The installed infrastructure consisted of:

1 x Kempower 200kW Power Unit: designed to deliver fast charging capabilities that can meet the requirements of modern electric vehicles, ensuring minimal waiting times for vehicle owners.
2 x Kempower Satellite Units: enhances the flexibility and reach of the charging infrastructure, allowing for multiple vehicles to charge simultaneously.
1 x Kempower 200kW C Series Combined Charger: a versatile solution that supports different charging standards, making it compatible with a wide range of electric vehicle models.
12 x ETREL | Landis + Gyr Company Inch Duo 22kW Dual Floor Mounted Chargers: provides efficient and reliable charging options that cater to both commercial and personal electric vehicles.

The Solution

The power system was supplied via a 1MVA package substation, connected through a new upgraded connection. It was distributed to a 1250-amp floor-mounted panel board and two GRPs (Glass Reinforced Polyester enclosures), each housing Proteus switchgear.
